Values in Organizations
Values in organizations are priorities. They determine perception and attention and, as a result, what happens and how. Values determine the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization as well as its ethics. They formulate the organization's recipe for success, and often its failure. Values are the seeds of the organization's future, its DNA. They determine whether customers are dissatisfied, satisfied or delighted. Values in organizations can be developed and even changed. As a result, values management is the ultimate strategic organizational development tool.
